Personal: Saturday Morning X2

I just love weekends when we have nothing planned 🙂 Like…. this one! I got up, did a little cleaning, a little laundry, and a little baking 🙂 Jeremy did (well… is doing) a little yard work…. which is well needed since he’s been gone for the last 2 weeks! Have a wonderful weekend!

Personal: Living & Learning….

You can never stop learning.I spend a great deal of time reading, watching and attempting to understand something new. Today is no different. As I sit in my day job office, I am addressing almost 200 envelopes for an upcoming conference I am putting together- I am listening, watching, absorbing a free online workshop…. with Jasmine Star. If you aren’t familiar with her (as I wasn’t before picking up a DSLR), she’s a marketing genius, and takes some pretty photos. Thank you Creative Live for making this available for those of us who are broke, living on a prayer, and just want to learn. Don’t judge the iPhone photo 🙂

Product: KISS Wedding Books :-)

I know I’ve posted about these before….. but I can’t help but post about these amazing books! Two weeks ago, I made it a mission to finally sit down and design our wedding album. I feared that if I didn’t accomplish this soon- it would never happen. So I sat for 2 nights in a row after work to complete all the spreads. I had just set out to do the minimum 10 spreads- but quickly realized that once I was designing slide 9… and just starting the ceremony photos, I had a problem…. this book was quickly becoming way more than the intended 10 spreads. So I sat… mulling through the 700+ fabulous photos Story Photographers gave us…. hemming and hawing over which ones to include- which ones would tell the story of our day the best. Multiple times I asked Jeremy to come and look at this- do you like this? What about this? ect. ect. ect. At the end of the 2nd night I had 22 spreads, and they were all perfect. I then uploaded and ordered to KISS… and idiot me…. I chose media mail….. why? because I’m cheap, and it was the cheapest option. As soon as the order was placed I wanted that book in my hands, I just couldn’t wait to hold it! I’ll probably never pick media mail ever again…. I ordered that thing like 10 days ago, and 10 days is just too long to wait for such an amazing book. Then…. I decided I wanted needed a 4×4 mini KISS sample. The green one pictured on our products page was a for a client, so we didn’t have one. So- I decided out latest engagement shoot of Andrea & Steven would be perfect! I got to designing again…. and I have to admit, once I ordered it, I was almost as excited to hold it in my hands as my own wedding book! Well, KISS has a new policy on their 4×4 mini KISSes, you have to order them 2 at a time now…. so guess what Steven & Andrea…. you’re getting a little present in the mail soon 🙂 We’re not greedy and we don’t need 2 copies of the same book, so we’ll be sending you one of the two shortly! So here’s the lovely books that were waiting for me when I arrived home (an hour early from work…. yes, I was so excited I left work early!) Our Album…. 10×10 White Leather 🙂    Yum. Probably my favorite spread…… although I’m not sure yet! The mini KISSes 🙂 The 4×4 mini in blue, the 8×8 in green & the 10×10 in white

Personal: 4th of July!

For the last 2 years Jeremy and I have jumped in our car and headed to Wilmington to celebrate the 4th of July. Our first year we camped out at the north end of Carolina Beach in Jeremy’s old Suburban. It was an experience I won’t soon forget. Last year we booked a very quaint bed and breakfast in downtown Wilmington! It was so cute and cozy…. but had the strangest inn keeper ever! This year we did something different. We drove to Wilmington on Friday to 1) meet one of our lovely September couples to check out their wedding and reception sites, and to take some engagement photos! (look for them on here very soon!) and 2) so Jeremy could check out our piece of property on Carolina Beach!! Since he’ll be on the deed with me, I figured he ought to see it! ha! Then we made a quick stop to see my sister and her family, then made the long, late drive home. We’ve been very lazy, and we’ve loved it!Here’s how we spent our 4th! Ballparks on the grill! We played rummy for hours on our front porch. And he beat me…. 🙁 Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
