Portrait | Spring Mini Sessions!

I’ve never done spring mini’s only fall… but I’ve had a few requests, so I thought I would try it out this year. Mini sessions are likely going to be at Beaver Dam in Davidson, which gets great light and has a nice variety of backdrops (a historic home, a barn, big trees). This session can be used for families, bridals, couples, etc. up to 5 people. Sessions will be 5:45PM, 6:15PM, 6:45PM & 7:15PM Only 4 spots available, book here!

Feature | The Everygirl | Danielle Leach

Back in August I answered a call for a photography assignment with The Everygirl. It was to photograph Danielle Leach, with the Search Solution Group and her office space because they were running a feature on her. When you do these kinds of things, you never really know what you’re walking into, what the space will look like, if it will be light-filled or a dark cave, if it will be a good or bad experience…. I’m delighted to say, it was a great experience! Danielle, her office mates and sweet dog, Henry all greeted me with warm smiles. Danielle showed me up to her loft style cube, aka every Kate-Spade-loving-gal’s dream cubical. The subtle touches of pink and gold won my heart over immediately. I photographed all her kick-knaks and office supplies, then Danielle. She showed me up to their roof-top deck that yielded a spectacular skyline view of Uptown. If you’re interested in reading the feature, please do so here! Want to learn more about Danielle, check out her blog here!

Portraits | 2011 Review

As promised, I’ve followed yesterday’s 2011 wedding review with our portraits 🙂 I really love doing portrait sessions, they’re so much more relaxed than a wedding day. We get to chit-chat and get to know our clients a bit better. While I really feed off the energy of a wedding day, the slower pace of portrait sessions are so nice! I included our bridals in here, as we consider them a “portrait” session….. I didn’t have bridals done when we got married, but I SO wish I had! It really allows you to try out your hair/makeup/shoes/jewels…. all together with that fabulous dress. ***I’ve been thinking about giving away a bridal session to our next bride we book….. would anyone be interested 😉 ????     Thank you all for making our 2011 extra special!   PS…. did you notice that little one in the bottom left corner??? I haven’t blogged her yet, but she’s the newest addition to the Horton family! Jeremy’s sister had her the week before Christmas, Anna Beth Avery 🙂

Christmas Photos | Jennifer & Callie

Jennifer wanted to take advantage of our Holiday photo deal….. a mini session with 25 custom photo cards. We met over at Latta Plantation to start, and then headed over to a grassy field. I really love that she chose non-traditional Christmas colors…. pink & navy 🙂 Meet Jennifer & her pup Callie! Someone had left these little snowflakes hanging in the tree…. made for the perfect holiday accessory 🙂
