Well, lots has changed since I last did an office update. I purchased a sofa, although not the West Elm one I’d been planning on for a while. I found one on craigslist I just couldn’t pass up. This single purchase spurred the office design into a completely different direction. As, it’s obvious gray & orange are my business colors. Well, this sofa…. it’s…. pink. I truly wanted my office to reflect my online presence. So… you’ll be seeing a few changes around here soon…. namely…. the addition of pink! I’ve done lots of digging around and decided adding pink was viable. I’ve been pinning things like crazy on my Pinterest “new office” board. I even made a special trip to Mary Jo’s last Friday to see if I could find some fabric to help marry the orange with the pink. I found a really pretty floral, and bought 2 yards. I plan on making a pillow or two 🙂 So here’s the progress…..(excuse the iPhone photos!) As you may notice, my new canvas has been hung over the mantle! I LOVE it!! I also got some large prints hung over the sofa! I decided to display my wedding dress (which was also my mom’s dress & my aunts dress) I got my sample album bags monogrammed & in the office! I am so in love with these. I had them custom made to fit my albums and then had them monogrammed. All our albums will come with a custom bag & they will  be monogrammed with your new monogram as a couple 🙂 So…. things still to be done…. 1. Find a rug. (Thinking I’ll try this! Gray & white stripes here i come…)2. Reupholster the gray chairs in a white cotton.3. Install curtains.4. Hang monogram logo over my desk.5. Find & hang a chandelier over the coffee table.6. Get my internet installed. It’s been ordered, Windstream is just dragging their feet on the install.7. Move all equipment & safe over from home. On my quest to incorporate pink into the business, I purchased Jeremy & I new wedding duds to shoot in! Last year we bought Jeremy a special gray suit from J. Crew to wear for weddings. So this year it was my turn… I bought a new Lilly Pulitzer dress, and Jeremy a new tie. We won’t be frumpy photographers at your wedding, we’ll look like stylish guests! I can’t wait to test out the new duds at our next wedding on Oak Island 🙂

Oh…. it’s already May….. wow. April was such a whirlwind, and I’m glad I survived it. April Goals: 1. Blog wedding I 2nd shot on 3/26 DONE! 2. 2nd shoot 3 weddings… Charleston this weekend, Georgia the next, & one in Charlotte! Blog at least one of them. Shot them, haven’t blogged them. 3. Complete styled shoot on 4/16 Done & blogged! Delivering CDs to everyone this week! 4. Shoot, edit & blog Kseniya & Brandon’s engagement DONE!5. Increase our prices. DONE! And thank you to everyone who lent an encouraging word about this, it means oodles! Other things accomplished….. booked 2 weddings!! Including our first 2012 wedding 🙂 Not too shabby! Alrighty on to May…. 1. Blog 2 weddings I 2nd shot in April 2. Edit & blog Emma Rae’s pony pics (next up!) 3. Shoot Catey & Michael’s engagement 4. Do a boudoir shoot this weekend! YAY! 5. Take family photos on Mothers Day at Christ Community Church 6. Continue looking at office spaces in downtown Davidson…. yep, hopefully moving my office out of the house & into town! No more lugging albums around to every Starbucks in town for consults! 7. Shoot & blog a surprise wedding we have booked on the 14th 8. Complete a photographers shoot out on Memorial Day weekend 9. Enjoy a little down time  10. Have a special dinner out with Jeremy to celebrate his new job. 11. Stalk the UPS guy for my new Finao sample album 🙂 Edited to Add: 12. I’ve been wanting to go out to Las Vegas for a long time. I’ve had multiple attempts at going, but none of them ever worked out…. till this year. Back in January I went to a local meetup where multiple photographers told me I just had to go to WPPI this year. I’d wanted to go, but counted it out- not wanting to spend the money or take the time off work. I changed my mind. So we bought airline tickets, figured out what classes to take, got a rental car & a cheap hotel…. we were going. We left Charlotte at 6AM on Sunday, and arrived in Vegas at 1030AM (thank you time changes). We got our rental car & headed south to see the Hoover Dam. THE HOOVER DAM!!! I was excited. We wanted to see the Grand Canyon that day too, but found out the North Rim is closed this time of year due to weather, so we’ll just have to make another trip out there to see that. ….. and we shot that elopement at the Bellagio! Then we started our classes…. we saw Bobbi & Mike, Jasmine Star & Damon Tucci ( I only took a photo of B&M) We made a trip to In-N-Out Burger…. super yum! We did a little gambling. Lost all. 🙁 On Tuesday we got up SUPER early to head out to WE Bring the Sun. A sunrise concert held out in the desert. and before we left we made our last stop at Serendipity for their Strawberry Fields Sundae on Mandy’s recommendation…. we might have eaten 1/2 of it. You can’t see the giant piece of cheesecake on the backside! All in all, Vegas was a blast- but the measly 50ish hours we had there just wasn’t quite enough. Next time we’ll do more exploring, see more shows & hopefully WIN money!
