Wedding | Kasey & Andrew

Back in October I had the opportunity to 2nd shoot a wedding in Kinston, North Carolina. I had no idea how beautifully, quaint the town of Kinston is- so charming & quintessentially Southern. The couple, Kasey & Andrew were just as sweet & charming as the town itself. She’s a gorgeous, blonde bombshell and he’s just a sweet puppy dog who loves her every move- he just adores her!  We arrived in Kinston a little early to check out the church & surrounding area…. whoa….  St. Mary’s Episcopal Church is just STUNNING! It’s like a mini Duke Chapel with that amazing stone and gorgeous arches.  These delicious cake pops came from Yummy Goodness Bake Shoppe in Greensboro. Probably one of my favorite photos to date: Andrew’s parents live almost across the street from the church- making it super easy for me to sneak over and grab a few of him getting ready to go meet Kasey. She sent me over with a note for him.  Andrew’s dad was just the cutest! He wanted to make sure Andrew looked perfect! They wanted to get to their party shortly after the ceremony ended, so they chose to do a first look…. OMG… this is the first time I’ve been involved with a bride & groom doing one…. SUCH a fantastic idea!! It gives you plenty of time to get some great shots together without feeling so rushed… and I really don’t think it takes away from the groom seeing the bride walk down the aisle.  Then it was ceremony time! …. and on to the reception at the Chef & The Farmer…. this food was SO GOOD! ….. Thanks to Renee Sprink for having me shoot with her again 🙂

Wedding: Megan & Jeremy: Manteo, NC Part II

On to part II of Megan & Jeremy’s Manto, NC wedding!  They wanted a few shots following the ceremony in the Sunken Garden at the Elizabethan Gardens…. What a stunning place! My view on the left, Jeremy’s on the right Megan had this parisol made to use for their thank you notes…. I love details like this! Then it was off to 1587 at the Tranquil House Inn in downtown Manteo My favorite ring shot to date!  The Elizabeth II sits across from the Inn 🙂 Thank you guys SO much for having us be part of your wedding day! It was a fabulous party with awesome people!

Wedding: Megan & Jeremy: Manteo, NC Part I

I met Megan once, several years ago at an NC State football game with our mutual friend Amy (who was a bridesmaid in the wedding). We became facebook friends, and hadn’t spoken since.  Late last year she contacted me about her wedding, and we were thrilled to be part of it!  I hadn’t been to Manteo since the infamous 4th grade trip that everyone takes to see the Elizabeth II ship, Jockey’s Ridge & Bodie Island lighthouse…. needless to say, I was excited to visit this part of our state again.  I arrived about 1030AM at Salon Vogue in Kitty Hawk, where Megan was having her hair & makeup done by the talented ladies there. Back at the Hilton, Megan’s bridesmaids got ready.  Megan’s brother couldn’t get his tie tied…. so what do resourceful brides & bridesmaids do? The round up another hotel guest to help out! Megan was such a beautiful bride…. and I was a huge fan of her dress…. see… the original dress I bought for my own wedding was very similar! Meanwhile… the boys got dressed in all different locations…. Jeremy got dressed at the garden…..
