Wedding | Amherst

I cannot believe I’ve been sitting on these images almost an entire YEAR!? Getting to photograph these two lovebirds in the Shenendoah Valley of Virginia was such a treat. Those rolling hills behind them just make my heart sing… doesn’t it yours?! Like… “The hills are alive with the sound of music….” no, just me? oknevermindbye 😉 Her Claire Pettibone dress from Gilded Bridal in Raleigh is a dream! That lace is just stunning, I need a bride in a CP dress, asap! And can we talk about that bouquet Keisha made… hot damn. Also… I just realized this cake was from my old stomping ground, Maxie B’s in Greensboro. I worked there all through college, they made my own wedding cake… and I may or may not stop in as much as possible for a slice of cake…. errr a cupcake….. ok, maybe both. All images are Portra 400. I’m baaaaaaack!!!

Hello!!!!! Remember when I was sooooo good at blogging every.single.Tuesday. ?? Yep. Me too. Well, since I’m officially back at the day job today, we’ll just dive right back into blogging each Tuesday (yes, I know it’s Wednesday… but Monday was a holiday, so….) . And yes, Kate is now in daycare… OMG! Where did the last 4.5 months GO?! I miss her like crazy, but am excited to get back to productivity and for her to have more social interaction time. It’s a little like the last 4.5 months were a dream, even though I did work quite a bit… just a measly FOURTEEN portrait sessions and a wedding since October! So yeah… I have lots to blog about! But today, let’s just do a little recap of all my wonderful clients in 2017! *photos of us and some of Kate, by Lauren Jolly Photography

Black Friday Photography Sale!

Hi!!!!! Long time, no see… err… read?! We’ve been super busy over here with baby Kate, and loving every minute of it. I also got back to shooting mid October, and it’s been a little whirlwind! I’m so thankful for my family, friends and patient clients during this time. I am hopeful 2018 will bring lots more great clients, so I’ve decided to offer a little treat for this holiday season…. Just fill out my contact form (for weddings!) and email me at info@jjhortonphotography.com for all other sessions! I’m SO excited to hear from you!!   I mean… $300 off wedding coverage?!!?! That’s HUGE! And BOGO sessions?!? Think… maternity/newborn…. engagement/bridal! OR… be a doll, and gift one or both this holiday season! I’ll even mail you a little something already wrapped for under the tree 🙂 Sessions must be used in Charlotte, or per-arranged travel destinations. If you’d like to book a session outside those areas, a travel fee may apply.

Couple | Marc & Megan

Sometimes you just need to dress a cute couple up in a bright, non-traditional outfit for a beach session! Pastel’s have taken over the wedding industry, and while I don’t hate it, sometimes I just crave more color! This Ft. Fisher session is one of my favorites to date… the happy colors and infectious smiles are my favorite! We started with her vintage dress and then found a coordinating shirt for him to wear. Marc and Megan have been married nearly 2 years… so we’ll just call this an anniversary session 🙂 Flowers: Farmgirl Flowers (a wonderful alternative to a traditional florist in a pinch!) Dress: Mayberry Market in Mt. Airy (vintage) Ribbon: Hanah Silk Shirt & Pants: J Crew Film: Portra 400 The FIND Lab
